You don't need to rush Nuwara Eliya. Here's a two-day plan that leaves room to breathe, based at Clover Cottage. ## Day one — water and town Start slow with tea on the terrace, then head to **Gregory Lake** (~7 km) for a boat ride and a lakeside walk. Lunch in town, a wander past the old post office and the racecourse, then back to the villa for a BBQ in the garden as the mist rolls in. ## Day two — gardens and tea Drive up to **Hakgala Botanical Garden** (13 km) in the morning while it's cool and quiet. On the way back, stop at a tea estate to see the hills at work and taste a fresh cup. Spend the afternoon in the games room or the garden — the whole villa is yours, so there's no reason to hurry. ## Good to know Bring a warm layer for the evenings, and comfortable shoes for the gardens.
